Konishi Toko II – It was her father, Konishi Toko, who built and fired one of the largest kilns in Bizen and was credited for devising the sangiri firing effect. His daughter has fired the kiln with others since his death but she has now taken over running the kiln together with his title. She exhibits her work both locally and in many department stores in Tokyo. This yunomi is decorated with the reddish deposit known as “hidasuki” (fire cord) that results from firing the pot wrapped in strands of rice straw soaked in salt water.
