Yukinori Matsukasa started potting in 1961 as an
apprentice to Fujiwara Ken and had further periods of study with two national
living treasures, Fujiwara Kei and Kaneshige Touyou.
He has had his own kiln since 1982. This small teabowl has Yukinori’s incised
mark on the side near the foot ring (a close-up is shown above) and comes
with a paper leaflet outlining his career, which suggests that this piece was
made during the 1980s. A small bowl by an important Bizen potter.
