Ogawa Bunsai is a potter who works or worked in Kyoto. I know little else about him but from the box it looks as if this teabowl is around 30 years old. The hand painted decoration is “Yariume”, which means spears of the plum tree and the potter’s seal is to be found just outside the foot ring as well as on the lid of the box. The chawan does not appear to have been used and is as it would be when leaving the kiln.
