Kobayashi Shizan, whose birth name is Kobayashi Kenji, made this open Ki-Seto teabowl around thirty years ago. It uses one of the typical glazes of Seto ware and has the potter’s impressed seal just outside the foot ring. It does not appear to have been used but there is crazing of the glaze that is fairly typical of this type of work.
