Takeda Toshio was born in 1932 and began potting in Mashiko in 1955 in what was then an important pottery centre due to Hamada Shoji having set up his workshop there. This yunomi shows Hamada’s influence it that it features brush work similar to that employed by him. It doesn’t appear to have been used and is in good condition without any damage or restoration. The small white speck on the inside of the foot ring in the last image appears to be a small piece of kiln debris that has attached itself to the foot during firing and does not affect how the yunomi stands. The wooden box is also in good order but the ribbon is missing.
